Replacing the previous outdated curricula and textbooks will improve the quality and relevance of schooling as well as the inclusion of contents and methodologies that support peace, human rights and citizenship, while fostering attitudes such as critical    

OBJECTIVES
The Framework for Action for “Education For All”, endorsed at Dakar in 2000, proposed a number of strategies, all of which are particularly relevant for curriculum reconstruction.
These strategies are:
- To meet the needs of education systems affected by conflict, natural calamities, and instability, and conduct educational programmes in ways that promote mutual understanding, peace and tolerance, and that help to prevent violence and conflict.
- Implement integrated strategies for gender equality in education that recognise the need for change in attitudes, values and practices;
- Create safe, healthy, inclusive and equitably resourced educational environments conducive to excellence in learning, with clearly defined levels of achievement for all.
