The Chairperson reiterated that elections to committees, councils and other subsidiary organs established by the General Conference would be held on Monday, 13 October, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room IV. The delegates were recalled that any new candidatures and/or withdrawals would have to be confirmed in writing to the Secretariat of the Nominations Committee. Whilst the list of candidates will be closed on Saturday, 11 October, at 3 p.m., withdrawals could be made until the start of the ballot. The Chairperson reminded the delegates that the Member States which had no right to vote, could still stand for elections.
The Committee then considered on a organ by organ basis, the document 32 C/NOM/INF.2 Rev.1 containing the revised list of candidatures as of Thursday, 9 October, at 1 p.m. Several delegates submitted new candidatures or withdrew their country’s candidature for the subsidiary organs.
The Committee was informed that document 32 C/NOM/INF.2 Rev.2 reflecting all modifications registered as of Saturday, 11 October, at 3 p.m., will serve as the basis for the preparation and printing of the ballot papers to be distributed on the election day, that is Monday, 13 October, at 9 a.m. in Room IV. The results of the elections will be announced on the same day at 6 p.m. in Room IV.
