To help speed integration process into the organization, a training programme is offered during the probationary period, i.e. the first year.

Throughout the first year, the YP will participate in trainings designed to equip the YP to undertake various tasks.

Professionalism
The YP is expected to behave in a matter befitting an International Civil Servant with due regard given to their interaction with colleagues and supervisors.

Integration
The YPs are expected to integrate into their work environment and familiarize themselves with management techniques and UNESCO work habits (e.g. the planning and organizing of international meetings).

Organizational Knowledge
The YP is expected to familiarize themselves with UNESCO’s main projects and programmes.

Professional Growth and Development
The YP is expected to expand their skills, knowledge, experience and competencies.

Teamwork
The YP is expected to integrate well into your work team.

Commitment
The YP is expected to take responsibility for a variety of different tasks and operations.

Technological Awareness
The YP is expected to be able to navigate UNESCO’s intranet, and enhance/add various web and IT skills to their professional profile.
