Circular Letter 3599, Detail
© UNESCO/Mirta Lourenço
The issue of shared responsibilities appeared first in 1978, when UNESCO's General Conference approved the Charter of National Commissions at its 20th session. Two circular letters on this subject were sent to Ministers responsible for relations with UNESCO by its Director-General. You can find the three documents under "Publications".

During the present biennium, other main orientations are building the operational capacity of National Commissions (See "Training") and the various Communication Services developed for them.

Legal Instruments concerning National Commissions for UNESCO, such as General Conference Resolutions and Executive Board Decisions, are included in this part of the portal, as well as documents of general interest (such as Reports, Strategic Outlines, Slips, etc.)
