Evaluate - Communicate |
Essential Qualities : group awareness; responsibility; concentration
Secondary Qualities : emulation
30 minutes; anywhere; no material required
Goal of the Game: talking about what you like, thinking about how to transform what you don't like.
How to Play: The participants are in a circle. Everyone must think of an important moment in the life of the project. This could be a precise incident or the state of mind of the group at a particular moment. The children should try to be "in" that moment to remember what they liked and didn't like while trying to separate their own feelings from the general emotional state of the group. Each participant then tells the group what was interesting about the moment in question, and what they learned. If it was a good experience for the player, he starts by saying "It was fun when….." If it was a bad experience for him, he starts by saying "It wasn't fun when...".
After the player has finished describing the experience he didn't like, he should try to think of a change that would make the project better. He should say "it would be great if…" In a circle, the players should take turns passing an object from hand to hand to symbolise each players turn to speak (a stone, a stick…). It's important that everyone speaks for himself, emphasising what they felt like among their comrades. The feelings and ideas of each participant must be respected by the group.
Interest of the Game: giving the players the opportunity to express dissatisfaction; comparing the nature and quality of individual and collective experience; appreciating what has been accomplished; motivating the children once more.
