The national symposium on sustainable rain-fed agriculture in Sudan, focused on the issue of "Combating Land Degradation for Sustainable Rain-fed Agriculture", organised by the UNESCO Chair in Desertification, in collaboration with the Desertification and Desert Cultivation Studies Institute Programme and Abstracts, will be held at the University of Khartoum, Al-Sharga Hall, in Sudan, from 17th to 18 November 2009.

Following issues will be discussed:
Climate, Soils, Desertification and Importance of Rain-fed Agriculture and
Soil Water Conservation, Crop Protection, Research and Economics.
