The Sixth International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VI) has been rescheduled to take place in Brazil on 1-4 December.
The conference had been due to take place in Belém on May 19 to 22 but a joint decision was taken between the Government of Brazil and UNESCO to cancel the event in the light of global public health concerns.
The conference will explore the theme; Living and Learning for a Viable Future: The Power of Adult Learning and will draw together UNESCO Member States, United Nations agencies, civil society and the private sector. The President of Brazil Inácio Lula da Silva has also confirmed his presence.
The host country has guaranteed health surveillance at the entry points to Brazil and the city of Belém. |
