Workshop on Education for Sustainable Development, Tehran, 28-30 April Tehran will play host to a follow up workshop for UNESCO Member States based on the recent World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Bonn. The workshop, part of a series in the Asia-Pacific region, aims to bring together good practices in ESD for the region and will be attended by senior ESD focal points from Afghanistan, Iran and Turkmenistan among others. The workshop aims to assist Member States in building leadership, coordination and monitoring for ESD. As lead agency for the UN Decade for Education for Sustainable Development (DESD 2005-2014) UNESCO seeks to strengthen political will and promote coordination at the national level.
