UNESCO-Nairobi and UNEP convene 1st Africa Expert Meeting for the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development


Some twenty experts from Africa and elsewhere met at the United Nations Office-Nairobi from 11 to 12 October 2005 to plan for the launch of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) in Africa.

Experts contributed to and reviewed a 'Policy Brief' prepared by UNESCO and UNEP to guide and support Member States of the United Nations family in Africa to adapt the International Implementation Scheme for the DESD into strategic frameworks and plans for implementing the ESD at the country level.
