The archipelago of Trinidad and Tobago joined UNESCO on November 2, 1962.
Since that time, the island has played a major role in UNESCO’s intersectoral projects in education. The country is covered by the UNESCO Cluster Office for the Caribbean in Kingston.
It is home to one UNEVOC centre and, as of September, the island has 44 schools participating in UNESCO’s Associated Schools Projects Network (ASPnet).
