The Union of Comoros joined UNESCO on Mach 22, 1977. It is covered by the UNESCO Office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The country is home to one UNEVOC centre. As of September 2006, two schools in The Union of Comoros were part of the Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet).
