Fact sheet |
Having conflict is normal. You have a conflict if you don't agree with someone. It can be anybody. One of your friends. Your brothers or sisters. Someone at school or in the street. You can also have conflict if you don't get what you want or when you feel mistreated.
Then you have two ways to solve the conflict, the violent way and the non-violent way. Take a look:
The Violent way
It is based on violence
You are angry and you want to fight
One is trying to dominate or eliminate the other one
You are adversaries (you fight against someone)
At the end the strongest wins, but in fact everyone loses
and nothing was solve
The Non-violent way
It is based on dialogue
You are angry, you are aware of it but don't spill it onto the other person
With words you voice your needs and listen to the other person's needs
You listen with your ears and your heart
At the end you reach a positive solution for both
You both win and the problem can be solved
Now you know the two ways of solving conflicts, talk about it with your friends
How do you deal with conflicts?
How do people deal with conflicts?
