Mine Risk Education Implementation Guide |
| |
The ambition of this MRE guide is to collect and spread this wealth of experience, and to work out a system of reference for setting up relevant programmes in order to improve the "risk management" of mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the affected regions. |
The twelve chapters of the guide illustrate and identify the twelve main methods of an MRE programme and show the corresponding educational tools. The guide treats very practical questions, such as recruiting personnel from the local population, training MRE personnel, the essential information to be transmitted, and communication techniques. Data collection is also emphasised, which is very useful for identifying risky behaviour and setting priorities for mine clearance.
