More than a subject, Non-Violence has to be an attitude within the whole teaching practice, involving the entire staff of the school, parents and the surrounding community in a common, shared endeavour.

Thus, integrationg Non-Violence gives teachers another vision of their pedagogical work. The general idea behind Non-Violence Education is to:
Learn about our rights, responsibilities and obligations
Learn to live together,respecting our differences and similarities
Develop a co-operative learning based on dialogue and intercultural understanding.
Help children to find non-violent solutions to their conflicts, to experience conflicts in a constructive way using mediation and conflict resolution strategies
Promote Non-Violence values and attitudes: autonomy, responsibility, co-operation, creativity and solidarity
Enable students to construct, together with their peers, their own peace ideal.
School has to give room to dialogue and sharing, becoming a centre for civic life in the community.
In order to have a real impact Non-Violence Education has to be planned as a school project, integrated into every aspect of the curriculum, pedagogy and activities, involving all the teachers as a team, as well as the organizational and decision-making structure of the educational institution.
Non-Violence practices must be coherent and reflected in the school rules and the use of school premises.
We propose you some sites and ideas that deal with conflict resolution, some of which propose training for teachers and young people.
