The three databanks listed below provide valuable information about the educational contexts in which HIV/AIDS programmes are being developed and implemented in different countries. They include a wealth of data and bibliographic references on national education systems, policies and practice, allowing an insight into educational trends worldwide over the past three decades.
World Data on Education
World data on education (WDE) focuses on basic descriptions of the main characteristics of the organization and functioning of national education systems.
It contains the profile of 158 countries as well as 101 national reports on education, presented at the 46th session of the International Conference on Education. An annotated list of selected webpages (Web resources) has been included giving access to a wide range of additional resources.
Country dossiers
The Country Dossiers bring together the various information resources on education in Member States created or compiled by the IBE. Each dossier includes the following information:
- profiles of education systems registered in World Data on Education.
- Reports presented by UNESCO Members States at various international and regional meetings.
- Descriptions of innovative projects in education at the primary and secondary levels.
- Full-text official documents on educational and curricular policies.
- A selected bibliography compiled from the IBE database IBEDOCS.
Basic educational statistics and links to official sites on educational statistics.
Links to governmental and institutional websites.
IBEDOCS
This is IBE's oldest database which contains worldwide references to documents and publications including journals, reports, books and articles published since 1971, on the organization and development of education (policies, reforms, etc.); educational innovations; curriculum and content of education.
It provides access to the full text of IBE publications and the documents of the International Conference on Education.
