The IBE officially commenced its HIV/AIDS Cross-cutting project in 2002 after becoming involved in UNESCO's coordinated response to the epidemic following the Dakar Forum in Education for All in 2000. In addition to the systematic doumenting and dissemination of HIV/AIDS curriculum-related materials through the International Clearinghouse, the IBE has also published a number of products on the subject of HIV/AIDS education, including journal articles, monographs and a video.
