St.Petersburg Ballet and Theatre School named after L.Jacobson

The Ballet and Theatre school at the State Academic Ballet theatre “Choreographic miniatures” in St.Petersburg  was founded in 1994. The founder and the artistic director of “Choreographic miniatures” was L.Yakobson (1904-1975) under whose influence many soviet ballet stars were formed and whose art became a decisive impulse for their work. The School striving to preserve the choreographer’s artistic legacy and to promote his creative methods. In April 2000 the School became a prize-winner at the International Festival of ballet schools in Prague, then at the International Festival in Bulgaria, and at the festival Italian Magic in Italy. The School plays the leading role in the organization of the Annual International Ballet schools Festival. The Ballet School is a private organization and the education is paid. The studying in senior classes is free of charge, and advanced students receive monthly allowance.
