From Pillar to Post is a comparative review of the employment frameworks for independent workers in the contemporary performing arts in Europe.

Judith Staines was commissioned by Informal European Theatre Meeting (IETM) in 2004 to survey network members and research the legal, fiscal and social statutes for self employed artists and cultural operators.  The report contains profiles for twenty-five countries.
