Are Historic Urban Landscapes a Type of Cultural Landscape?

International and local experts will participate in this regional conference to discuss regional concepts and approaches to Historic Urban Landscape and the Master Plan for the World Heritage Site of St Petersburg. |

They will also discuss the scientific and technical challenges for the management and conservation of historic centres of towns inscribed on the World Heritage List, on the basis of: the recommendations of the “Vienna Memorandum”, drawn up at the World Heritage and Contemporary Architecture – Managing the Historic Urban Landscape Conference (Vienna, May 2005);the Statement of the Workshop on New Approaches to Urban Conservation (Jerusalem, June 2006).The event is funded by the UNESCO World Heritage Fund, The Netherlands Funds-in-Trust, the UNESCO Office in Moscow and the Saint Petersburg's City Administration.
