Host and partner institution: Cittadellarte-Pistoletto Foundation, a North Italy-based non-profit organization founded in 1999, runs a residency on its premises, the UNIDEE in Residence International programme. The aim is to inspire young people from all over the world to create a responsible change in society by means of a residence programme where they develop creative projects that interact within a social context.
 
Working/living conditions:  the Foundation provides private room, board and a common studio space (a 700 square meter loft), simple wood-working shop, library, computer room, cafeteria and kitchen.  During the programme, residents are supposed to attend lectures and project presentations, develop projects in collaboration with other residents and the Pistoletto Foundation itself.  The Foundation arranges opportunities to meet and collaborate with experts as well as local partners such as companies, neighbourhoods, schools, institutions and councils.  

Nature of bursary: return ticket, accommodation, meals, studio, visits, lectures, workshops, final presentation of the projects and euros 200 as a budget for project development (materials, special prints...) .  The applicant must provide his/her own visas and health insurance in order to obtain a permission to stay (obligatory after 3 months of staying in Italy).

Dates of residency: 3rd  July - 31st October 2007. 

Eligibility: committed artists and performers from Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, East Europe or Asia.  Working knowledge of English required.  Selection of applicants will be based on project proposals, attitude towards social engagement, professional experience (creative individuals and researchers in any fields from  other regions of the world and/or in other artistic disciplines may also apply, following the separate application procedures posted on the Pistoletto Foundation - UNIDEE website.)

How to apply: send the application form in this website plus the UNIDEE in Residence application form (to be downloaded from the website or requested from the office) directly to the Pistoletto Foundation at the down address, together with the following documents: 

- one or more examples of new or recent projects that illustrate their approach to the theme of socially responsible transformation. (please note that once in Biella your proposal may change)
- documentation of previous work
-  a curriculum vitae
- a suitably-sized self-addressed envelope, if you wish to have your materials returned

A copy of the application form ONLY must also be sent to UNESCO-IFPC.
