Succession by the Republic of Montenegro

On 23 October 2006, the Secretary-General of the United Nations received from the Government of the Republic of Montenegro its instrument of succession to the Convention for the Protection of Producers of Phonograms Against Unauthorized Duplication of Their Phonograms adopted at Geneva on 29 October 1971. The said Convention entered into force, with respect to the Republic of Montenegro, on 3 June 2006.

Accession by the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam

On April 6, 2005, the Secretary-General of the United Nations received from the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam its instrument of accession to the Convention for the Protection of Producers of Phonograms Against Unauthorized Duplication of their Phonograms, adopted at Geneva on 29 October 1971.

 In accordance with Article 11(2), the Convention entered into force, with respect to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, on July 6, 2005, that is three months after the date on which the Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization informed the States, in accordance with Article 13(4) of the deposit of its instrument.

Accession by the Republic of Liberia

On September 16, 2005, the Secretary-General of the United Nations received from the Government of the Republic of Liberia its instrument of accession to the Convention for the Protection of Producers of Phonograms Against Unauthorized Duplication of their Phonograms, adopted at Geneva on 29 October 1971.

In accordance with Article 11(2), the Convention will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Liberia, on September 16, 2005, that is three months after the date on which the Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization informed the States, in accordance with Article 13(4) of the deposit of its instrument.

The total number of States that have deposited an instrument of ratification or acceptance of, or accession to, the above-mentioned Convention, was 76 on 31 december 2006.
