2006-2007 Discipline: percussion Origin of candidates: Latin America and the Caribbean (except Cuba) Language: Spanish Maximum age: 30 Deadline: 30 April 2006 Application to be sent to: Instituto Superior de Arte Host and partner institution: created in 1976, the Instituto Superior de Arte is a centre of advanced studies in the fields of theatre, dance, music, visual arts and communication art. It offers courses at the undergraduate, graduate, MA and Ph.D. levels. Working/living conditions: participation in the Institute’s courses on instrument practice, facilities for experimentation and performance (bata, tumbadora, congas and minor percussions), interaction with Cuban percussionists. Nature of bursary: return ticket, registration fees, full board and lodging at the students’ halls of residency and working materials. The laureate must provide his/her own health insurance. Dates of residency: from 5 February to 5 May 2007 Eligibility: musicians from Latin America or the Caribbean, under the age of 30, with a high school music education or a similar ability and with at least 2 years of professional experience. Working knowledge of Spanish required.
