Japan and China sign an Agreement to fight copyright piracy

Japan and China signed a memorandum to fight copyright piracy on March 15, 2010. The agreement is expected to encourage cultural exchange and the distribution of legitimate products.

The agreement signed by China and Japan organizes cooperation between the two countries in the field of copyright piracy.

Under the memorandum, a meeting to discuss copyright issues will be held annually, symposiums will be organized, and governments’ staff will be trained in order to set up a system for the protection of copyright.

The memorandum will be in effect for five years.
