DREAM Center, Petion-Ville (Haiti)
In co-operation with TIMKATEC and other local partners such as Aide a l’Enfance Canada (AEC) based in Port-au-Prince.
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Children are particularly vulnerable to the current situation and are affected by the consequences of domestic violence, illiteracy and HIV/AIDS. This project aims to promote the social reintegration of a hundred street children aged between 10 and 17 years old by developing their creative skills and potential. The artistic activities including painting/drawing, dance, theatre, poetry and crafts offer a therapeutic as well as an entertaining dimension to the lives of those children deprived of essential resources. The centre will also support their work by putting them in contact with the public and established artists.
