At its first ordinary session (Ottawa, 10-13 December 2007), the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions adopted a decision calling on Parties to the Convention to provide a written contribution should they wish to do so.

Decision 1.IGC/5B, paragraph 4 – Parties were invited to present proposals on the modalities for implementing Article 13 of the Convention regarding the integration of culture in sustainable development policies, for examination by the Committee at its ordinary session in December 2008. The deadline for submission is Monday, 30 June 2008. The deadline for submission has been extended until Thursday, 31 July 2008.

For information, the Parties have received a document prepared by David Throsby entitled ‘Culture in Sustainable Development: Insights for the Future Implementation of Article 13’ (PDF).

The Secretariat of the Convention has invited Parties to submit  a written contribution, preferably by email to the following address: convention2005@unesco.org
