Launching of the International Year of Languages in the framework of the International Mother Language Day

The launching of the International Year of Languages is followed by an Information Seminar on Normative instruments promoting multilingualism. The Programme of this event is still subject to change.

The seminar is followed by a round table entitled "From standards to reality: models, synergies and limits" introduced by Iván Ávila Belloso, Permanent Delegation of Venezuela to UNESCO.

About 200 participants are expected to attend the seminar, which is organized by UNESCO and the Council of Europe.
