The Intergovernmental Committee adopts its policies and procedures and reflects on the elaboration of the operational guidelines for the implementation and application of the provisions of the Convention for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

This important legal instrument, which was adopted in 2003, entered into force on 20 October 2005.
