Revival of Kattakurgan Ceramics Exhibition

The exhibition is organized within the framework of the UNESCO Project for the Revival of Development of Traditional ceramics of Kattakurgan. It outlines the outcomes of research work carried out on Kattakurgan ceramics which was implemented as the first phase of the project.

The goals of the project’s first stage are to:

• study the stage of development of the Traditional Kattakurgan ceramics in detail;
• examine the works of the master-ceramist of the Kattagurgan region;
• create the map of raw materials of the Kattakurgan region;
• study traditional patterns and ornaments;
• study traditional colours;
• revive the workshop of the Kattakurgan master-ceramist: Yuldash Abdullaev.

The Uzbek folk master-ceramists, Akbar and Alisher Rakhimov, present their works at the exhibition. The ceramics produced in Yuldash Abdullaev’s workshop are also exhibited.

Among the 100 persons invited to attend the exhibition’s opening are representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Uzbekistan, ambassadors and consuls, art historians and archaeologists. Students from art schools, colleges and universities are also be invited.
