Information Kit

The aim of this information kit is to:

• encourage ratification of the 1954 UNESCO Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and its two Protocols (1954 and 1999);
• contribute to celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and its 1954 Protocol in 2004;
• contribute to celebrating the entry into force, in March 2004, of the 1999 Second Protocol;
• contribute to the dissemination of the 2003 UNESCO Declaration concerning the Intentional Destruction of Cultural Heritage;
• raise public awareness of the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict.
