Bogotá (Colombia), World Book Capital City 2007 

Presentation of the programme of the Bogotá World Book Capital City 2007, organized by the Permanent Delegation of Colombia, in the presence of Mrs Françoise Rivière, Assistant Director-General for Culture, Mr Luis Guillermo Angel Correa, Ambassador, Permanent Delegation of Colombia to UNESCO, Mr Luis Eduardo Garzon, Mayor of Bogotá and Mrs Martha Senn, Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sports in Bogotá. 

In accordance with Resolution 29 C/31, adopted by the UNESCO General Conference on 2 November 2001, the Organization has, for the past seven years, given its moral and intellectual support to the conception and  implementation of a nomination programme for the World Book Capital is aimed at promoting books and fostering reading during the period between one World Book and Copyright Day and the following one (23 April).
