Dialogue of cultures and civilizations: the bridge between human rights and moral values

This international seminar deals with the question of human rights and their universal application in the present international context which attributes increasing importance to cultural diversity.

The notion of dialogue is emerging as an effective means to reconcile universal values with cultural claims at a time when our societies are becoming increasingly interconnected but less integrated and compassionate.  The role of governmental institutions and civil society, in particular through education and the media, will be examined in the process of establishing principles and strategies  leading to a more harmonious co-existence.

This seminar is organized by the World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations”, under the patronage of UNESCO.
