Contemporary Arts in Response to HIV and AIDS 

Commemoration of the World AIDS Day and mainstreaming of socio-cultural approaches to HIV and AIDS education. 

The UNESCO Office in Moscow, within the framework of the pilot project “Contemporary Arts in Response to HIV and AIDS”, will organize:

  • an award ceremony of the winners of the Poster Competition “SOSznanie"  (“Awareness”) and an exhibition of the posters at the Moscow Academy of Finance and Law;
  • the premiere of the theatre production “Arctic Revelation”, based on interviews with people living with HIV;
  • a series of public discussions on the potential of the arts to address HIV and AIDS-related stigma and discrimination, with the participation of young creative professionals, journalists, experts and other project stakeholders. The art works created within the project will also be presented and evaluated;
  • a press conference on the results of the pilot project.
