Following exhibitions in Paris at the beginning of 2006, the joint UNESCO/Dessine l’Espoir project, Artists4Life, recently displayed in several new venues including the international fair Maison & Objet (Paris, 1-5 September 2006), the 2006 Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society (Deauville, October 2006) and the Global Business Coalition Summit on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Paris, October 2006). |
|
| Artists4Life includes artwork for over 30 prominent international artists interpreting the message "I Love You Positive or Negative". Most recently, Dessine l’Espoir developed the "One Month of Love" kit for the project in order to raise funds for HIV prevention and care activities in South Africa. The kit is currently on sale at FNAC and the Dessine l’Espoir boutique in Paris. UNESCO is also working with Dessine l’Espoir to create a pedagogical guide which will be disseminated, together with reproductions of the artwork, among cultural centres and schools in southern Africa to assist teachers and facilitators with discussions addressing HIV and AIDS related stigma and discrimination. The joint UNESCO/Dessine l’Espoir project is sponsored by the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Cristina Owen-Jones.
