Presentation of the project 'Voices for the Map of Mexico 1550', first prize in Art Center Nabi Digital Storytelling Competition.
The tool that is used to display the map and the stories via the Internet is completed. It is an Open Source called ImaNote and was originally developed by myself, Lily Díaz-Kommonen and the Systems of Representation group in the Media Lab for the Map of Mexico and Cipher projects.

Developed with the cooperation of 'Learning Environments group' (LE) at the Media Lab. ImaNote can be downloaded at: http://imanote.uiah.fi/about

Together with students in the Interactive Design program of the Universidad Iberoamericana de Ciudad de Mexico, 7 legends has been completed in the form of video narratives. Along with many photographs and other audio visual resources, they are been added to the website that is used to display the map. Please note that below, as part of this message, direct links are included to the map as well as direct links to some of these video legends.

You can appreciate the fantastic work that the Mexican students have made. (In this work the collaboration was made with Teijo Pellinen who is a lecturer in interactive narrative in our department, Media Lab Helsinki as well as with Jorge Meza Aguilar from the Universidad Iberoamericana de Ciudad de Mexico.)

See the paper that details the research methods and work so far done towards this project as well as everybody's contribution. The paper was presented in the conference "MX2005 Envisioning Design in the 21st Century" recently held in Mexico City. The paper can be accessed at:
