Promotion of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage
Within the framework of this series of meetings, the Seventh Regional Meeting will concern the Member States in the Pacific. |

In order to promote the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, adopted by the Organization’s General Conference in October 2003, UNESCO is organizing eight meetings in different regions of the world and inviting policy-makers in relevant fields of respective governments to attend. The main aim of these regional meetings is not only to encourage Member States to ratify the Convention, but also to create an opportunity to exchange views and experiences in relationship to the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage.
