Mr Angel Augier


Havana (Cuba), (1947). Lives in Cuba. Digital imaging, 2D space compositions.

augier.jpgAngel G. Augier received the Licenciado in Physics degree (B.Sc.) from the University of Havana in 1972, and a Ph.D. degree in Optics from A.F.Ioffe Physic-Technical Institute, Leningrad, URSS, in 1980.

Although he has received courses of drawing techniques, watercolor technique, graphic design, and he worked sometime drawing animated cartoons professionally, his formation in artistic techniques has been principally in autodidactic way.

He has alternated the artistic creation with the scientific labor. Drawing, watercolor and oil colors painting, ceramic miniatures and small sculptures.

He have worked almost thirty years in the scientific creation, in the area of Optics, Holography, measuring laser techniques, as well as in Image Processing employing methods so much optics like digital. He usually teach in university courses, and in masters programs for Optics and Image Processing.

Some of his printed digital artworks meet in particular collections in Cuba, France, Spain, Chile, and United States of America.

His works are principally 2D space compositions, with textures and light.
An important part his digital paintings has been composed complete and directly in the computer without the employment of photographic media or images taken of other irrelevant fountains, and using only appropriated software. Several of his artistic digital works has been exposited:
