Bio  
branco.jpgMariana Branco was born in Brazil. She studied Social Communication in Brazil at the Federal University of Paraná, graduating in 1997 with the project [Plan of Communication for the State Park of Campinhos].
She had studied cinematography in Cuba at [Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV], continuing her studies in New York at the [New York Film Academy], graduating with the production / direction of three short films in 16 mm.
Back in Brazil [1999], she started working with digital images [printed materials and electronic art for web], founding the company MARIANA BRANCO PROJETOS VISUAIS [www.marianabranco.art.br].

In 2002 she finished a post-graduation in Art History with the project [Ludicidarte Virtual – the poetry of the opened art as a ludic element in the society into the virtual world_internet], initiating a research in Art Technology. By this time, she had participated in some festivals / expositions with the works called: A Tensão [flash], Neglect [16mm] and Sentimentos [flash], and this last work mentioned was selected by FILE International Festival of Electronic Arts_2002. In 2002 she also had the artwork URBANA selected in the Nacional Competition of Video poetry_2º place and had the work XV de novembro selected into the 10th best videos.

In 2003, 3 of her works were selected for the international Salón CUBA_DIGITAL and she was invited to present the works in Cuba. Also during the first semester of 2003 she was selected with another piece of work in the II Córdoba Animation_ANIMA 2003. During 2003, Mariana Branco was selected to teach at FAP – Faculdade de Artes do Paraná.
