Festival "Haiti: Freedom and Creativity from the Mountains to the Sea"
Organized by the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in association with UNESCO to commemorate the bicentennial of Haitian independence.
The festival presented some 100 Haitian artists and numerous craftpersons, performers, cooks, writers, researchers and cultural experts who gave performances, demonstrations, workshops and concerts.
