Dr. Stephen Ingham


Stephen Ingham has had a broad and varied career as a composer,music critic and academic. Born in London, Stephen has spent several years in Germany, where he furthered his studies at the Staatliche Hochschule fŸr Musik in Freiburg. Since 1993, he has lived and worked in Australia.



Bio  
Stephen's music is performed and broadcast frequently in many countries; his first opera "No Straight Lines", based on the writings of Leonardo da Vinci, was premiered at the Dresden Musikfestspiele in 1994 and earned him the Carl Maria von Weber Composition Prize. A second opera "Dr Forbes will See You Now", was premiered in Melbourne by ChamberMade Opera in 1998. In 2001 he was a guest composer at the fifth Forum for Contemporary Piano Music in Heilbronn, Germany, and in 2002 he has been invited as guest professor in composition at the Musikhogskolan in Piteå, Sweden.
