Young Digital Creators
“Being creative and collaborative” is the motto of UNESCO’s Young Digital Creators (YDC), which is a web-based programme designed for young people of different cultures to gradually construct, through a collaborative process and creative tools, a deeper understanding of each other's cultural values and shared perspectives on global issues of our time.
How does YDC contribute to fostering intercultural dialogue?
Young participants of the programme express their ideas, feelings, and visions on different topics with the opportunity to create joint digital pieces based on their unique experiences and environments related to the topic.
Young people are invited to think and create locally, drawn from their own immediate culture and realities, in displaying multicultural perspectives and then exchange their expressive contents with young peers of different cultures across the globe.
YDC supports interactive platforms, culturally sensitive and suited to the young users coming from different geo-cultural regions, especially engaging young people to share and exchange their concerns and values, furthermore to act collaboratively and build better understanding in making our society more sustainable.
Interdisciplinary approaches and creative online learning modalities, locally driven, bring strong motivation for different youth communities to think critically and foster creative expressions. Being applicable and adaptable to formal and non-formal educational settings, the programme also targets out-of-school, post-school youth.
What are the major YDC topics?
