Workshop on an international project of electronic dissemination of thesis and dissertations.
The participants of the workshop on ETDs, organized by UNESCO on 27 and 28 September 1999 in Paris, France, discussed the establishment of such an international strategy, defined its objectives and out-lined a project document.
Objectives
The workshop aimed to discuss the feasibility of an international project for the dissemination of electronic theses and dissertations. Such a project should be designed to facilitate transfer of expertise from developed countries to developing countries both in the scientific areas covered by the thesis and dissertations and in the techniques to be used for the electronic dissemination of scientific literature.
