UNESCO's IFAP seeks comments on its Draft Strategic Plan

At its 5th session in April 2008, the Intergovernmental Council of the Information for All Programme (IFAP) considered the Draft Strategic Plan of its activities in 2008-2013 and finally decided to adopt it after an online public consultation giving all stakeholders an opportunity to comment and propose new ideas.
The multi-stakeholder approach is at the heart of the global effort to create the information/knowledge society. It is hoped that opening the Draft Strategic Plan to a public consultation will allow to profit from the collective wisdom of everyone interested in the issue.
In the coming years, the Information for All Programme of UNESCO will focus on the following overarching objective:
The Draft Strategic Plan sets out how to pursue these goals. It can be consulted here in PDF format. Your comments and advice are cordially invited. Please send them before the end of May 2008 to:

- to help Member States develop and implement national information policies and knowledge strategies in a world increasingly using information and communication technologies (ICT).
