UNESCO will actively participate in the Third Global Knowledge Conference (GK3) from 11 to 13 December 2007 and its parallel events and exhibits. It will set up an onsite Community Multimedia Centre (CMC) and an exhibition promoting the concept of CMC in building knowledge societies at Kuala Lumpur Conventional Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
UNESCO will ensure live FM radio broadcasting and Internet streaming on the GK3 themes, participants and events. Topics will include the coverage of the conference, announcements, reportages, panel discussions in the studio, live studio audience interactions, etc. The programmes will be broadcast through streaming and audio booths located everywhere in the conference site.

UNESCO will also provide telecentre services, such as e-mail, Internet, access to a digital library of content, website development, uploading content, blogging and wiki.

A number of presentations, exhibitions, meetings, screenings and open workshops will take place in the community space. They will focus on the following themes:
  • How to produce digital stories,
  • Open ENRICH,
  • Free and open source software for community media,
  • Radio-in-a-box,
  • My media trainer,

  • Open Training Platform.
Two panel discussions will also take place, focusing on:
