The Budapest Symposium (26-28 July 2006) will set the stage for discussion and debate around the critical challenges stakeholders face as they struggle to deliver the full potential of e-Government. The Baltimore event (2-4 August 2006) aims to take the discussion further by exploring new and emerging applications in the country that has pioneered the art of online campaigning but now faces the challenge of translating e-advocacy tools into more inclusive governing. Jointly-hosted by the Hungarian Government, the Symposium will attract delegates from Europe and beyond. Those involved will help shape the future agenda for e-Participation at a time when International institutions are searching for the way forward.
The Budapest event runs alongside the UN meeting on 'E-participation and E-government : Where do we go from here?'. It will bring together a unique blend of academic research, leading policy makers and senior
managers and civil servants, and will play a crucial role in developing the research and policy agendas for e-participation.
The Baltimore event is jointly hosted by the Public Forum Institute, the Baltimore conference will give policy makers and experts from around the world a uniquely American perspective on the future of e-Participation and e-Democracy.
