INFOLAC Web Award 2005 for best on-line museums

The deadline for the submission of proposals for the INFOLAC Web Award 2005 for the best on-line museums in Latin-America and the Caribbean is today. The award aims at contributing to capacity building of web content developers.
Teams from Latin America and the Caribbean working in the area of Internet publishing of museum-related content (websites, portals, blogs or other similar methods), can participate in the contest. Projects should present permanent and/or temporary collections of art, scientific and cultural objects. Participating teams should have support from a private company or from the institution to which they belong.

The best site in each category will receive an official recognition by UNESCO, a link to site from the INFOLAC website, and an award of US$1,000. The awards will be presented 23 November at the International Forum on Information Technologies and Interfaces at the University of Colima, Mexico.

The contest, , is organized by the Information Society Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (INFOLAC), with the support of the University of Colima, Mexico. It is also endorsed by the National Committee of the Dominican Republic of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and the International Council on Museums for Latin America and the Caribbean (ICOM-LAC).
