UNESCO and NECTEC Organize SchoolNet Training Course in Bangkok

The UNESCO Office in Bangkok in partnership with the Thailand’s National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) will bring together SchoolNet teachers, managers, and technical personnel from eight ASEAN countries to a regional training course on the management and administration of the ASEAN SchoolNet.
The five-day training course will be held from 28 March to 1 April 2005 in Bangkok, by invitation only. The objectives of the training course are to enable mathematics, science, and language teachers to understand how to develop the web content for theirs school website. It also aims at enabling SchoolNet managers to understand how to implement, administrate, and manage the ASEAN SchoolNet and technical personnel to maintain, support, and gain knowledge on troubleshooting for the ASEAN SchoolNet systems network.
This training course is being organized as part of the “Strengthening ICT Use in Schools and SchoolNet Project in the ASEAN Setting” that explores and demonstrates how ICTs can be used in schools to improve the quality of education for all and better prepare youth for the demands of knowledge societies.
