Integrating ICT into School Curricula: Workshop in Bangkok
22-07-2004 (Bangkok)
The systematic integration of ICT into science, mathematics and language curricula is on the agenda of a workshop for teachers from Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, and Viet Nam who are presently meeting for an “ICT-based Lesson and Material Development Workshop” in Bangkok, Thailand.
The development of ICT-based lessons and support materials for integration into the teaching of science, mathematics and language at the secondary level is one of the centrepieces of the UNESCO Bangkok project “Strengthening ICT Use in Schools and SchoolNet”, and the focus of the project's second phase.
During the four-day Workshop the teachers and curriculum developers work together to develop a framework for systematic integration of ICT into science, mathematics and language curriculum. Based on this framework, they will identify entry points for integrating ICT-based lessons and finally produce these lessons, pre-test and pilot test them in the selected schools.
