A UNESCO handbook providing young people with practical advice on how to build multimedia CD-ROMs and Web sites was presented by UNESCO's Director-General Kochiro Matsuura at the Opening Ceremony of the 20th World Scout Jamboree on 29 December 2002 in Sattahip, Thailand, in the presence of the world and Thai scout leaders and special guests.

Digital Community Services in Pacific Libraries and Archives
Libraries and archives in the Pacific suffer from poor perception and lack of awareness of their importance for education and sustainable development. Therefore, their situation in the emerging knowledge societies is still unclear. This is one of the conclusions in a survey on “Digital Community Services in Pacific Libraries and Archives”, conducted by Esther Williams (Fiji) for the UNESCO Office for the Pacific States.
Ethiopian Centre Promoting ICT Use by Blind People Supported by UNESCO
An agreement to support training for the blind and visually impaired through ICTs in Ethiopia was recently signed by the representatives of the Adaptive Technology Centre for the Blind (ATCB), a non-profit resource and information technology center in Addis Ababa, the International Telecommunication Union and UNESCO.
