General presentation of the language The dialects of Deti are K'ere-Khwe and Tsh’erekhwe. Deti is related to Shua.

Socio-linguistic context – description Like other eastern Khoe (Central Khoisan) speech communities, the Deti people were surrounded for hundreds of years by Tswana-speaking peoples and have adopted most of their cultural values over time. Their language, Deti, is being replaced by the Tswana language.
